Rangeville Renovation

CLIENT  Private Client

COMPLETED  2018

Performance Building Group (PBG) were engaged to deliver a full renovation to the Master Bedroom, Walk-in-robe, Ensuite, Office, Rear Deck, Driveway and downstairs Powder Room to the residential home in Rangeville.

The 120 square meter renovation was completed within a 4-month construction program with a particular focus on high quality finishes, craftmanship and innovation to complement the current aesthetic of the million -dollar residence.

With the home set on the escarpment of the Toowoomba Range, a key deliverable for the client was to utilise natural light and amplify the views ensuring the property matched its natural surroundings. To achieve this result PBG utilised louvres, translucent glass panelling and wall cuttings in the design. The use of recycled timber for the deck extension (from the main bedroom) further cemented the property’s relationship with its natural environment – encouraging views over the range and the Balinese style in-ground pool. This feature of the property encourages outdoor living and provides a picturesque spot for your morning coffee.

The cobblestone, bespoke finished driveway wraps around the front of the house and creates a modern entrance – maximising the properties street appeal.

The main bedroom is state of the art, incorporating coffered ceilings, air-conditioner linier slots were used to create straight lines to tie in with the shadow line skirting and architraves to amplify the flush finish of the surfaces and to not impede the overall room design. Self-closing cavity sliding doors to office and ensuite were installed for a flush finish, all joinery also has self closing draws and doors with mitred edges used to not show and end grain to the laminate , an integrated fridge to the walk-in-robe and ceiling recessed motorised blinds provided contemporary convenience for the client.

Feature strip lighting to the bathroom vanities, French & Italian stone feature tiles, a central two-way fireplace and a custom ‘flower’ stone bath become the project trademarks.

While the fireplace is a main feature of the bedroom it did provide a challenge to coordinate trade installation without time slippage to the construction program – the residents were also still living in the property throughout the construction period, so it was important to expediate the program without compromising on the final result. Intensive liaison between the project architect, clients and trades provided a smooth and timely construction process.

The new design flows well with the existing building, with an emphasis on earthy tones and textures, premium finishes and open plan, functional spaces. The master suite alone incorporates a separate seating area and office space.

Overall, executing the renovation works at the property provided Performance Building Group with an opportunity to display our technical abilities, project management capabilities and our comprehensive understanding and desire to utilise innovative products to deliver a premium result. This project truly needs to be seen to be believed – we are extremely proud of the final outcome.

  • 'I have known and worked with Adam and John from Performance Building Group for over 3 years now and I find their work, enthusiasm and quality of a very high standard, I would have no dramas in asking them to complete a building task for me at any of my projects that I run through Hutchinson Builders Toowoomba. Truly a great business to work with.'
